Nathan Hagihara is a Californian, born and raised. A full-time student, high school educator, and a strong advocate for his community, Nathan has an immense love for his native Orange County.
Nathan is a full-time undergraduate student, in his fourth-year at California State University, Fullerton. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor's of Science degree in Child & Adolescent Studies, with an emphasis in Adolescent Development. Additionally, Nathan is working towards a Certificate of Digital Media Communications. At CSU Fullerton, Nathan has been a member of many clubs and organizations, including the Child & Adolescent Studies Student Association (CASSA), Student California Teacher's Association (SCTA), and the Education Inter-Club Council (EICC).
Prior to attending CSU Fullerton, Nathan attended Trabuco Hills High School in Mission Viejo. At Trabuco Hills, Nathan was a member of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, a two-year intensive academic program resulting in a speical international academic diploma. He was also an Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction, received the Golden State Seal of Merit, and the California Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish.
Currently, Nathan works as the Executive Director of Communications and Student Development, Track & Field at Trabuco Hills High School. In this capacity, Nathan oversees all internal and external communications, managing a communication list reaching up to 9,000 members. He oversees all branding and graphic arts for his program, supports the photography team in editing and sharing images of athletes and parents, and is the Chairman of the Trabuco Hills Invitational Committee, the team that annually plans California's third-largest track & field meet, hosting 108 schools from 15 states and 4 countries, with 9,700 athletes in attendance in 2019.
Nathan is also a part-time employee of the YMCA of Orange County, where he has served in various capacities over the past four years. Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, Nathan supported the Member Services Departments at the Mission Viejo and Laguna Niguel branches, handling general administrative and sales tasks. Returning from the pandemic in June 2020, Nathan has focused on the Mission Viejo branch, working in the Member Services, Child Care, Sports, and Family Engagement programs on a regular basis. Nathan also supported the creation of internally-used COVID-19 compliant signage and digital media for use across company platforms.
Nathan currently resides in Mission Viejo with his family, and you'll often find him in his free time at Disneyland or Knott's Berry Farm, enjoying Coffee Bean and discovering where he's going to travel to next.
